====== Launch of SSHOC-CH ======


On April 24, 2024, SSHOC-CH held a **half-day workshop** on the need and the future of infrastructures for the social sciences and humanities community in Switzerland at the University of Bern. This workshop was also the formal launch of the [[:association|SSHOC-CH Association]].

The workshop aimed at **finding synergies and fostering collaborations between the social sciences and humanities**, and to build an **ecosystem of national infrastructures and expertise** which will support scholars from social sciences and humanities in their research and in managing their data in the spirit of Open Science and FAIR principles.

**Current developments at the European level** were presented by Bonnie Wolff-Boenisch, Director of CESSDA and chair of SSHOC. After a presentation and discussion on the **vision of SSHOC Switzerland**, the association was formally launched, statutes were adopted and the board members as well as the president were elected.

The establishment of SSHOC-CH represents a pivotal step forward in bridging the gap between existing infrastructures and advancing research collaboration in Switzerland. We are happy to be moving forward together!
